Now that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has finally appeared before Congress to testify on his written report on Trump/Russian “collusion”, we can now confirm what I and others said and wrote when the written report was released in April–this investigation has been a trumped-up (no pun intended) fraud from the beginning, and the Attorney General’s follow up investigation of the origins of this case must include the harshest possible accountability for the rogue agents of our government who perpetrated it. Mueller’s testimony performance was pathetic and I almost felt sorry for him in the way he bumbled through it, but it was clear in the first few minutes that his “not my purview” response to any inquiry involving the fraudulent origins of this case would amount to nothing less than a complete cover up to protect criminally rogue elements of the DOJ and FBI who were the actual miscreants behind the Russia-collusion hoax.
From the outset of this fiasco, the most insightful analysis of this case has come from Kimberly Strassel of The Wall Street Journal, who had this to say in her coverage of the Mueller appearance: “Mr. Mueller’s testimony this week put to rest any doubt that this sheltering was deliberate. In his opening statement he declared that he would not ‘address questions about the opening of the FBI’s Russia investigation, which occurred months before my appointment, or matters related to the so-called Steele Dossier’. The purpose of those omissions was obvious, as those two areas go to the heart of why the nation has been forced to endure years of collusion fantasy”.
Amen. Mr. Attorney General, the ball is now in your court. Do your job.
Thank you Jim for your TEXAS Pilgrim. I enjoy reading it each month, and I appreciate your insights! Keep on caring & keep us informed! Best to you, our TEXAS Pilgrim!
Thanks and good to hear from you, Bob. Best to Pat.
Amen!
I could write several pages in opposition to your statements on Mueller but I will be brief. I have reviewed some of his report especially the interference by Russia and the obstruction of justice by Trump. All seventeen government agencies related to intelligence said Russia clearly interfered in the election. This was no hoax. Trump said Mexico would pay for the wall and we know about that hoax. Mitch McConnell refuses to allow Senate votes on bill that would protect against Russia interference. He is now known as “Moscow Mitch”. I do not want you to have a moniker like that. Regarding obstruction of justice by Trump I count about 130 legal authorities cited by Mueller to support his conclusions that the evidence supports obstruction. As a lawyer I am impressed. Mueller did a good job and it was clear that Trump had lied and obstructed justice. Except for the department of justice rule protecting Trump he would be indicted. You or I would have been indicted if we had attempted to obstruct like Trump did.
Betcha there an equal number in your profession who could write in support of the opposite position you have taken. Ya think?
Thank God for Mr. Redford’s brevity. Many more pages would just further expose the substitution of emotion for logic.
It seems attorney Redford called the DNC for talking points prior to his writings.
Exactly, Danny, and isn’t it instructive that since the Mueller testimony not one word from any of the 20+ Dem presidential candidates about the Russia/Trump collusion/obstruction witch hunt? They know it was a fraud and despite the no-bill of Comey, it’s going to get worse as the AG proceeds and they want no part of defending the rogue FBI/DOJ cabal that instigated it.
I keep up pretty closely and have not seen any lawyers for Trump writing any rebuttals to Mueller’s discussion and authorities on obstruction of justice and Giuliani supposedly had a reply all ready but never revealed it. Let me know if you find such a rebuttal. For another real hoax by Trump you might recall his assertion that Obama was born in Kenya. He said he had evidence of this but never produced it and this went on about a year. Was that a racist assertion? Maybe someone will investigate that if they are interested in a hoax investigation.
