Friends: As we approach 2024, I don’t know if it’s anticipation or dread, but I get the definite sense that the new year will be momentous for our country and the world, topped by what figures to be the wildest and craziest election year ever. Let’s hope and pray that we can find some leadership worthy of our respect. Meanwhile I plan to continue to post sporadically and as always I appreciate your response.

The Strauss Howe Generational Theory places our society in the Crisis Stage.
The Crisis Stage is characterized by a series of failures of widely held financial and social arrangements and wars. The Crisis is then replaced by a High like the Eisenhower years with peace and prosperity.
Howe, one of the creators of the theory recently wrote “The Fourth Turning Is Here” which does a great job of describing the situation and forecasting the future.
IMO the Boomers will have to age out before any meaningful change will occur, but it will happen, led by people like DeSantis and Ramaswamy and Musk.

We live in strange times, to be sure. I know not the future and my concerns are great, given our present situation. But our faith that there is a great plan orchestrated by God, must sustain us through the present crisis.
